Disadvantages of the three board mold:

(1) During each injection of the three board method, the heavy mother template must slide on the guide pin, even if it is suitable during the new product period, the mold life is not long.

(2) During each ejection of the three board method, the movement of the vertical sprue removed from the mold is greater than the necessary template movement required to remove the formed product from the mold.

It can avoid problems caused by too long material heads, such as reducing mold stroke, saving material head residue, easy forming, no shrinkage, no flow marks, etc.

For some large or centrally poured products

(1) Hot runner can be used to replace the three plate mold to avoid unnecessary movement of the forming machine template.

(2) In the use of three plate molds, the mother template needs to be moved to remove the material head. If the hot runner forming method is used, the opening movement can shorten the necessary movement for unloading the material head, thus increasing the thickness of the mold. When the traditional method requires a large forming machine to produce, a small forming machine can be used after using the hot runner.
